Battery modes?

Anyone know exactly what power save, balance, performance options actually do (to the cpu etc)? (cm12s)

I am not sure of most but I believe if you select power save, it stops most push notifications. I believe if you select that option, it gives you a warning about it. I do not have 12s so I cant verify. I remember my wife complaining since it made her not want to use power save.

Excellent info Cafe cheers mate. Just what I was looking for. Strangely (and I know benchmarks aren't really worth a shit) balanced scores higher on AnTuTu and Quadrant than performance.
EDIT Ahh just reread your post and it's just running a performance governor so that explains it. Same max speed as balanced

So what mode is everyone here running most? I usually use balanced but lastnight my battery was dying and I put on power save and the drop in performance didn't seem too drastic

I leave it on balanced with "Enable per-app profiles" on.

Ahh I forgot to ask about in app profiles. I remember having that in custom roms but how does it work?

It automatically adjusts the profile to meet the power demands of the app. A game would get performance, email balanced, etc.

Just realised "power save" also shuts off two cores
