My battery is now running out by the end of the day. I'm not using the phone much, either for talking, texting, email or surfing. This started happening about a week ago. Could this be a result of the "silent" upgrade to the system?

Or is this a result of adding large apps even though they are not open?

    Suggestions?

Also - when I had an iphone, we were supposed to turn it off once a day. I do this with the Droid but have no idea if I'm supposed to do so.

    Thanks, Sherry

I don't turn mine off. I just plug it in to charge overnight.

It could be any of a number of things, but any app that will continuously synchronize with the web will use battery power. Also, if you use WiFi at home, but leave your home and go to an area without WiFi access, disabling WiFi when you are not in range of a WiFi connection will help save battery as well.

There can be lots of other reasons why your battery is draining, but the usual suspects are apps and regular synchronization.

Agreed - I only power off when I need to restart in recovery mode for *cough cough* other reasons.
