Help battery

I ran out of battery on my tab. Charging doesnt help as for past day it battery charging indicator is on but only charging to 2 marks over and over. But in reality, the battery does not charge at all. I have tried to power on button but nothing works. Pls help.

You discharged it completely and might have broken the battery. Not advisable to discharge completely. Keep it on the charger for 12 hours and see what happens.

Thank you for yr feedback ..its now back in order after 2 days ..! Wonder if its time to change battery or it is normal for Samsung Tab 2 to act up like this when battery is fully discharged? Btw the tab bought about 15 months ago. Past warranty period.

It is not the tab's fault - it is your fault. Li-ion batteries are not supposed to be discharged completely as that causes damage. Period.

But to be fair, the device is supposed to shut down before you completely discharge for precisely this reason.

I agree that you shouldn't run the device until shutdown, but it shouldn't do this if you do.
