This is more of a rant then anything else, so if you are looking for hard facts, move along.

Seems we are considered first gen android. I always thought of this phone being at least a tiny step above the rest. As such I speculate we will get either 1.6 or 2.1 but thats it. Android versions beyond will probably require snapdragon or TI omap3 level cpus(ARMv7, we have ARMv6. If you got adb setup, shell in and type 'cat /proc/cpuinfo').

But I'm happy with this phone and look forward to more updates. But for now I'm content with the bug fix. I've lived without turn by turn navigation all this time(why else would you want 1.6 or 2.x?) and can live without it a while longer.

More thoughts: Kinda left this open ended but hows this question: What would you like to see in the next generation of android phones?

Of course I would want a great camera. Would RAW be too much to ask? Also the next thing needed is high quality video, HD even. And then after that would be dlna certification so the phone could talk to a dlna certified tv or even the ps3 to stream video and photos and well any media to them.

Well, The sad thing it's a 1st gen... Yes, but true.
On a side note, it's like having a Super Charged Hero though.

Once we Have a Kernel, ( Possible ) & Recovery ( Not Sure on this ).. This Phone will really come to life, I'm Positive everyone is working on it, Just going to take time.

I don't know about the rest of your requests but would aonlineradio work for that one? The antenna on my car got ripped out a while ago and I've been using aonlineradio instead because replacing the antenna isn't really worth the cost.

I'd love to see a higher degree of customization on the home screen(s) be available in future android releases...

Call me crazy but this whole throwing icon and widgets randomly onto the home screen seems a little messy to me.

You know, when I first saw android way back when it was 1.0, I thought the same thing. I was like, whats the point. But now that I've played with it, I kinda get it. I thought it was some weird way of trying to copy the pc desktop to the phone, but I feel its about having info quickly available(widgets) and quick one button actions to the things you find most important(apps or shortcuts to actions).

Yea I dont see that happening any time soon unless the protocols are made available. Thats why the only phone that has this ability is, tah dah, a sony ericsson phone. But just to quickly add in, dlna server/client isnt remote play. Its just a way for devices to talk to each other and make media available between the two. Its how I get all my ummm backed up movies, yea backed up, to play on the ps3 on my big screen without it taking up space on its hard drive. So instead of having to say download all your pictures or videos taken while out and about, you simply turn on wifi and pow its on the tv. Or at least thats something I would love.

Well let's see... I'd like to keep SWYPE standard as a keyboard in the new OS. In so far as "stuff" on the phone, I could use a 250gb SD; The AMOLED can stay but I'd want it to have a daylight mode so that I can see the darned thing in sunlight. I'd like that snapdragon running at 2ghz. - No huge screen for me, I like it sleek and sexy. But that demolition model works...no cracked nor scratched screens would be sweet. And yes, I wish it came with a remote for my keychain that would trigger an alarm to "find" the phone in case I laid it down and forgot where I put it. This would work whether or not the phone was fully charged.

There was a program that I ran on my Blackberry that I simply loved by iambic called Agendus... I loved that program. It isn't yet made for the Android but I am hoping that it will be available soon. My dream would be to have that as standard issue on my Android rather than...Where's Waldo! Agendus - iambic's unique, all-in-one personal information manager (PIM) available for BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm OS, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Windows Desktop PCs

Hmm... I never tried that but does it require wifi or some sort of internet connection? because thats one of the reasons I want fm radio on it so that all I gotta do is put headphones in and just listen to the radio.
