I'm out of work right now so have plenty of time.
You should have seen a window that asks you to install drivers. I'll check it out myself and install on to my pc.

I click run and my computer does the thinking symbol then nothing.
Was just having a browse through the xda forums you sent me and I notice that p500h might be different to p500. I have the p500h, but as far as I knew the only difference was what network in runs on. Anyway i'm going to do a search on the xda forums to see if rooting instructions for p500h are different, if I find some I will post the link here or by pm and get advice from you before I do it.

Sorry I should've mentioned it earlier but I always think of my phone as a P500 since its the same every other way.

Thats cool I actually downloaded those the other day when I needed them for something else then got rid again! I will get them again though thats easy.

This is totally messed up. The only place that has the info you need for your version P500h V20d wants to much info. It's up to you. I'm not going to give them any of my info. You could always let me know any info from the site that you learned, then ask questions based on that info.

I haven't really managed to find anything apart from peoples unanswered questions haha. Send the link you found and I will read through it later and decide, but if its asking for to much info I probably won't do it. Thanks for your help.

All I can find is a may have a possibilty of rooting with gingerbreak if I was running 2.2, so might have to look at downgrading, then rooting.

ETA: I'm 90% sure this is going to work so I am going to look how to downgrade. Worth a shot

Not having much luck with finding 2.2 to downgrade my phone to so sure I will take a look at the link thanks. Hopefully I will figure 2.2 out because from all my googling looks like gingerbreak will work then. Don't mind running rooted froyo over the weekend until I research some nice ROMs.

Won't let me get past completing the offers to check the page no matter what :/ Since we got a bit stuck though I have asked on another forum in my country, and one person has said they had did it and are going to post soon, even if its to complex for me, I will post here, in case anyone else is looking for this in the future.

Meanwhile if anyone knows how to get 2.2 I would be happy. My understand is I need to use KDZ to flash it, but I need the one for LG P500h in New Zealand. Thanks :)

Thanks, if you get sick of looking don't worry about it though, you have been helping me out for ages, don't want to put you out. Gingerbreak looks nice and simple when I tried it earlier so if I can find a 2.2 that will work on my phone I should be good to go.

I'm looking for anything that looks like it will work. At least as long as my eyelids stay open.

Found a forum out of NZ that would know more about your version then anyone. What network is it CDMA,GSM, or UTMS?

I'm going to finish with the install of ICS on my phone (it's still an alpha, but it's really looking good so far), Then go to bed. Catch you late tomorrow.

Apparently superoneclick works, looks really easy according to this as well
    http://jailbreakandroid.org/how-to-root-android-2-3-x-phones-or-tablets-using-superoneclick.html
But because I am a scaredy cat I thought I would check with you first, is this as safe as gingerbreak?

Will answer your question as well in case you don't advise superoneclick, it is on WCDMA, not sure which of the above options that is, but I know its not CDMA as thats an old network they are closing soon. I am on skinny, which uses Telecom XTs network.

Also just been informed that the xda forum link we were looking at earlier before I mentioned it was the p500h does in fact work with p500h, so will give that one a go, if superoneclick is a no go :)
