Looking for ideas. Since this is fairly new to me, I like to have several styles to play around with and didn't want to purchase Beautiful widgets or something similar just yet. Thanks! :)

Fancy Widget is what I use. It's free, but you have to download it using this QR code.

I use BuzzBox... It's not real pretty, but it displays the news I want well.

Its been saying its 66 degrees since I installed in on my phone... no change. The forecast is accurate though. I think the picture (shiny sun) has not changed either... even at night. :(

I didn't see weather on mine at all since I installed it... Not even when the GPS location wasn't checked. So I un-checked use my location & entered my zip code :-/

I think a lot of weather widgets aside from the weather channel one and weather bug are experiencing not updating issues right now. Even iGoogle is reporting a "stuck" temp.

Ah... you are probably right. Saw similar feedback on the Google weather gadget:

    I am a complete noob. I just switched from a 3gs to a Captivate.

How do I find Fancy widget, and how do I use the QR code?

    Thanks!

Install barcode reader or shop savvy (which I use) from the market & you just run the app & hold your camera up to the QR.

Thanks. I see the problem now. It's been discontinued due to HTC complaints. Oh well.

Google news and weather (also called Genie) that shipped with Nexus One is the best. I turned off the weather part of the widget (you still can see it in launched app if you tab over), because it duplicated fancy widget's functionality. The news part of it is better than any other one's I've tried. Not in the market, but this link will guide you:

Same here... everything appears to be working except the current temperature. It's been 76 Degrees for a long, long time now. I like the simplicity and usefulness of this widget very much, so I hope this issues is addressed soon.
