yeah i hastily got the one at sprint as I don't want anything to happen to this beautiful screen. But God was that a mistake. Takes any wonderfulness from this display and craps all over it...looking for something like Invisishield now.

I also bought the Sprint protectors and they suck! The black protector is blah and the clear ones make the screen not so pretty! lol

It's nude right now--I heard it's scratch resistant, so i'll test that out

I think I'm doing the clarivue thing, seems easy to put on. sprint one isn't great, but its protecting, the woman put it on and scratched the protector on my wifes epic. its barely scratched but they gave us another set for free so I have a spare if I need it.

I work at Best Buy Mobile and I would highly recommend the Invisishield Screen Protectors. They are guaranteed for life and scratch resistant. You can literally take a key to it and nothing happens. I've had one on all my phones and threw one on the second I picked up my Epic today. Just be sure to have one of our guys put it on for you because believe me these are like putting window tint on and you will screw it up if you try it yourself :)

Epicfan, can you please give us a list of what accessories are available for Epic at Best Buy stores and/or online?

I got a pack of universal screen protectors from Radio Shack. They are WriteRight brand. Looks like crap when the screen is off, but you don't see it at all when the screen is on unless it's a very dark background (like the default messaging screen).

I'll use up the rest of the pack (5 for $8) before I buy something else.

i had that one on my phone & it sucked .. maybe it was just a few out of the many but it was larger then the screen by just a lil & took away from the soft keys sensitivity & even made any light colored screen backround have visible thin rainbow lines. also heard a few other folks that this happened to .... also on my evo that whole "scratch resistant" line is bullshit as my phone lightly rubbed up on a very dull & round seatbelt & tore a hole right thru it .... i will admit it protected the devices screen 100% tho & the good part is they guaranteed it .. but after i had to express my belief that it was bullshit they tried to deny it in the first place

guys with the sprint brand ones is it the one that comes with 2 anti glare & 1 privacy ? i just bought them but yet to install .. shit i might return it & go naked on the screen

No thanks. I had that on my iphone 3G and I hated it. It was too rubberish. It just felt like the iphone was in a plastic bag and that's just how it felt. I rather feel the smooth glass then that plastic feel.

    Agreed!

This phone has gorrila glass. There is no need for a screen protector.

I actually loved the Invisible Shields on my iPod 5.5G and PSP. I was about to pick one up at BB before I saw this thread and thought about the tactile aspect. Did the Shield make the touch screen harder to use as well as feel "rubbery"?

And are people completely sure about the gorilla glass? The articles in Engadet and Gizmodo said that the claim wasn't verified. If it's somewhere in that vast tome of a manual, then I missed it.

The invisible shield and hard case from best buy work good enough for me.
The screen is more touch sensitive accept for the capactive buttons which makes it less sensitive. A small sacrifice to pay for a scratched screen;).

As far as the hard case  there's no padding on the plastic:( But at least it will take the nicks and scratches away from the phone.;)

Overall..satisfied.....good thing about it is...you can take it back to get refund at best buy...It can't get better than that

None. Really makes no sense to use a screen cover when this thing has gorilla glass.

First, most screen guard tend to be lint magnets
Second, the installation is a PITA
Third, they tend to effect touch screen accuracy
Finally, I'll be replacing this phone...don't plan on having it forever

I take it back. The edges easily lift up when pulling phone in/out of pocket, and then gets lint under it and won't stick anymore. I took it off.

I have purchased several including Zagg and NONE of them fit right. They are all cut too large and end up curling up where the screen meets the bezel at the bottom of the screen. When are these makers going to finally realize that these items need to be cut a hair smaller than the screen to fit right.

I purchased the Clarivue Ultra-Clear and noticed after applying it, when looking at the screen from any angle other than straight-on, there are lots of air bubbles (and this was after cleaning the screen with the supplied cleaning pad). Supposedly, the air bubbles should clear withing 48 hours. If they don't, I may wind up removing the screen protector as others here in the forum have mentioned the Epic's "gorilla glass."

I went to Sprint yesterday and saw a rep bashing on the epic's screen--then I asked to see it, sure enough it had scratches all over it.... no sure if it's from just bashing constantly, but damn that phone looked like it was in some serious pain.......

I went to Best Buy yesterday in Chicago and asked for an Invisishield for my new epic (which already got a really small scratch-so I don't think it's gorilla glass- mind you, i've been treating the phone like a baby so no idea how I got the scratch )

Anyway, they said they were told to remove them from all the shelves because they were defective. I went to another best buy (also in Chicago) and didn't see any protectors on the shelves so asked the BB Mobile rep if they had any. They were all piled on his workstation and said they were defective and were told to remove them.

Any idea why? I managed to talk them into selling me one but before I apply it, wondering why they are "defective".

Any thoughts? They had an epic with the screen protector on it and it seemed to respond well, although the glare seemed a little worse.

    Thanks

I know they have good screen protectors, but do they still keep the good quality for the most part? Cause some screen protectors take away from the phones screen.

I had the Sprint one on (not the privacy screen, the supposed clear one) and it stayed on well and was very responsive. However, the "rainbow," "sparkly," or whatever you call them really bothered me. If any of you find a screen protector that is really clear and doesn't introduce any color artifacts, then please let us know as that's soemthing I want to try. My friend's iPhone 4 has an Otterbox case which has a built-in piece of clear plastic in it. It works within the case. The screen protector is not bad, but does introduce some artifacts, but if you want to watch a movie, play a game, or do something where you want the screen to look perfect, you simply pop the phone out of the case. There's no film with bubbles to worry about.
