I noticed something that makes my sound better coming out of my earbuds. While using the stock music player. Go to menu>audio effects>wired stereo devices>enable audio effects

Then u can pick from effects like 3D stereo or even a custom equalizer.
This is just something i noticed helped a lot in how my music sounded, let me know if it helps at all.

    Thanks

Actually, the changes made in the Music app are system wide. It will affect the output of Pandora as well.

It's not an equalizer in a classic sense, just some preset options.

Just follow the instructions in the OP and you'll see what I mean.

You can change the audio quality in Pandora. Just go to preferences and switch it to High. By default it's on Normal. Mine sounds a lot better now.

Sorry if you already know this. Perhaps other people don't.

I think it sounds better than the droid Incredible and that didn't sound bad even with no EQ options whatsoever. I'm no audio expert but I certainly don't think it sounds bad.

I came from an Incredible and feel that my X's sound is worse. I feel like there is more static and pops while using the audio out to my car stereo. My old Incredible seemed really clear in terms of sound quality.

Maybe I have a bad X or does anyone else think the sound was better overall on the Incredible?

I'm a little disappointed in the sound quality out of the 3.5 jack, be it through headphones or line-out into my stereo or car. I've read that the audio is much better through bluetooth.

We've gotten fantastic sound both through bluetooth, and also the jack. We used an old casette jack interface for cd players, and the droid sounds excellent in our van!

eq doesn't appear to do anything through my BT headset. two profiles are 'wired headphones' and 'speaker'...maybe BT is neither?

our bt headsets already have eq built in... I always use the bass boost on them.

which has nothing to do with whether the 'wired' or 'speaker' profiles on the X actually affect BT headset sound.

Most stereo bt headsets I looked at all have eq built in. Could be they realized that, and didn't bother to pass the changes through, which would cause doubling of the audio changes.
