    Howdy all! :)

There are probably a few of you who have come from a BB and I was wondering how you got your stuff over to the Desire.

i.e. Saved messages (sms, email), media, etc.

This will be my first Droid so please be gentle!! ;)

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Welcome...

Didn't come from a Blackberry (TouchHD) but I used Sprite Migrate to move everything over. Its dead easy, free and only takes 20 mins or so.

    Heres a link

    Thanks a million!! :)

According to that link: "On BlackBerry we currently migrate contacts, call logs and bookmarks."

I am looking to get everything over to my Desire.

    ahhh...

I got more coming from WinMo. Would have thought media would be doable by transferring off sd card in BB then onto card in desire...

    Dunno about SMS\email though.

I just migrated contacts to google using google sync. Im not convinced you're going to get SMS.

Edit> Well the emails will be on the server anyway.

    Thank you. :)

Can I get all my past emails onto my Desire?

Unless you have deleted them from googles servers then they will come over when you set the phone up although by default it only syncs a certain date range. If you need the whole lot you would probably need to set up the "mail" or something like "K9" (not google mail) app to connect to your gmail via IMAP and tell it to download everything.

Have you got your Desire yet?

If not come back when you have and I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

Nah, gmail will only sync so much, but you can search your entire mailbox through the app. I've just opened an email from feb 2005.

Blackberry internet service will only delete gmail emails if you set it up with IMAP in the first place, so they should still be on the server.

You might want to have a look at mybackup at RerWare, LLC: Home of the #1 mobile backup\migrate application - MyBackup Pro

    To quote the website

You might wangle it all for free with the demo... Worth a try.

Edit: Just seen its contacts\call logs only same as Sprite

Dont get what you mean there. Do you mean Google calendar sync from Outlook to Google or something else?

    Thanks anyway.

I'm really surprised that there are so few crackberry users on here; they must have had similar issues...
