So does this replace SU or does it just enhance it? If I uninstall SU will this take over superuser requests?

Hmmm... Two different answers. I guess I'll just have to uninstall SU and find out for myself. As often as I have to wipe and fix my my phone it's not like if it goes bad it would be something new to me.

Update: It seem that it is indeed a replacement. I disabled superuser then launched a few apps that require superuser permissions and the supersu prompt came up. I granted permission and the apps ran like normal. I'm kinda curious why a few apps that require superuser permissions did not ask for them with supersu.

No no no don't uninstall superuser, just install this ontop of it. Uninstalling superuser isn't necessary

edit: installing ontop of superuser is kinda replacing it, like you will get SuperSU prompts when using it but still I wouldnt uninstall superuser

I installed SuperSU...will it let you unroot to get the B08c update or do you still have to use ZTEs tool?

After a boot it took forever for anything that needed root, anytime an app needed root permissions, it took almost 5 arcs to respond, so I went back into superuser and updated that binary so su took over root, and uninstalled and its back to normal, no lags on asking for root

It was most likely the notifications (toast) actually. If you disable those then that should do it

I have been using SuperSU now on a variety of different devices (Asus Transformer, Herotab C8, ZTE Warp, Samsung Transform, LG Marquee) and I have had nothing but flawless performance with it. Instead of running into the conflict with SU (losing root) I have been finding that SuperSU tends to retain root and manages to do so when combined with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper. It even survived an OTA update on the LG Marquee (I believe my phone is the only one to have done so). I cannot recommend SuperSU enough.....:thumb:

I know this thread is getting kind of old but I'm seriously leaning on moving over to SuperSU now because of all the times superuser requires a binary update and then fails when you do it causing me to clear data in it as well as all of the apps I have needing it. Does SuperSU have the binary update issues that Superuser does and do you all still give it a  ?

I did a full unroot (removed SU binary and app), full reset & wipe, then flashed the SuperSU zip that includes the binary & app and have had zero issues with it.

If you use SuperSU, you need to completely remove the SU binary and app as the SuperSU binary and app replace it.

I cannot speak to the issues dealt with by others but my own experience has been flawless with Supersu. It usually updates its binary right when you open it after downloading. I had numerous issues with superuser and its binary update system and found Supersu to be better. I will say this about Supersu, when I was using the LG Marquee (An absolutely shitty phone) I updated the firmware and actually managed to retain root due to Supersu and OTA Rootkeeper. Yet, if others are having issues I would definitely just try it and then decide which one you like best.
