Root Boot Problem

I rooted and decided to roll back and go for the radio update and 2.2 using this guide.

I'm at the part

Download the file dinc_ota.zip, rename it to update.zip and place it in the root of your SD card.Reboot into recovery (turn on USB debugging and run “adb reboot recovery” or power down the phone and then press and hold power and volume down)

but when I adb reboot recovery in cmd then my phone reboots to a black screen with phone and red triangle with ! inside. I pull battery and it will still power into a working phone. What did I screw up?

I did have to format my sdcard from FAT to FAT32 to get the PB31IMG.zip to work. When I did this I moved all files off sdcard to pc then back including all backups from titanium and clockwork.
