Hey every one I have just tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2. using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198444
Now when I turn it on It comes up with an S2 logo (Which is what I expected)
But now I can't acess download mode of Recovery Mode just Turns off. I can still use it normally though. But now i've lost my warranty. although I can't see the flash counter so you can't see that's it's been tampered with in anyway other than seeing the S2 logo that is. Would it be worth trying to exchange it? Any advice on getting the stock recovery on it without going into download mode?

Many thanks for any in advance

actually I'll give this a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369799

Looks promising!

Please let us know if it works! good luck!

Well I can't seem to get UnBrickableResurrector to recognize my device despite having the drivers installed and everything and the device isn't bricked as such it just won't enter download mode still functions perfectly.

I can now get into CWM but I can't seem to install any ZIP files at all for some reason.

I flashed the "stock kernel" from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884071 which is what messed up my download mode so I am no longer able to do anything.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

try to reflash cmw and see if you can go from there.

Hi
Yeah I have CWM installed but I was going to try flashing a stock Rom via CWM but The roms are in a tar format and I don't think they are flashable using CWM.
And I can't flash stock kernel or another CWM because it just says aborted when I try and flash anything.

Thanks
