    hi there,

I'm a newbie with this android stuff. i have bought an X10 mini pro and it's not bad so far.

Got rid of the current web browser, and installed opera mini - but i am confused that i can't seem to browse my local web server? (over wifi). I tried it's hostname ie.. http://itsPcName/ and also via it's IP, http://192.168.1.xxx/ but neither seemed to work.

Anyhow if someone could point me in the right direction?

    I don't use opera but....
Open Opera, then open the settings. See if you can change the option for how websites view your phone (eg. mobile device, android, ipad, explorer, etc.) and see if you can change it to view your device as a typical computer browser.

I thought Opera Mini used a remote caching service, that it relies on the Opera servers to get the whole page you want then dump the lot in one go to your phone to speed things up. If this is the case it'll never be able to see the local web services on your own network inside your firewall.

Put your old browser back on and use that for browsing local connections over wifi.
