Help Bubble Notifications with alternate Home screen

Does anyone know if the lack of "bubble notification" (the green circle with the number of missed VM, Emails) is lacking because of no Root access or is this something that ADW, LP, Etc. just have not incorporated. It's wierd but I like the bubbles.

try sms unread count, you can make bubble widgets for messaging, email and dialer.
