I got the Vikuitit DQC-160 screen protector , but there appeared to be some sort of dust/fluff stuck into the sticky side of the protector . I'm not sure whether this was there at the start or if it got stuck to something on my Desire but I already ensured the screen was clean . It means that when I put the protector on there are air bubbles around these bits dust which aggravate me . Is there any way to get these off the adhesive side of the protector ?

Vikuiti DQC-160 screen protector for HTC Desire: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

    Thanks .

Was there just one in the pack? I imagine if it's quite sticky you're going to struggle to get the dust off, but sometimes you can work small bubbles out with the edge of a credit card (but don't press too hard!).

If you have some fine tweezers it might be worth trying but obviously you want to be careful you don't just get more dust stuck!

No luck with the tweezers . Shame I can't get a refund or anything , likely they'll just say I did it . I've emailed them to see if anything can be sorted . Hmm , looks like I'll have to buy another one though .

A bit of research shows that the Vikuitit DQC-160 screen protector is about the best there is. I see from the review on Amazon that the reviewer found it was the wrong size (3.2" instead of 3.7"). Did you find this? If so I would ask for a refund.

I'm interested because I was about to buy one. I've tried the cheapest (see above) and now I would like to try the most expensive.:D

Yup, I'm ordering the official ones from Play as Hero owners swear by the official ones.

They're also the cheapest, delivered to your door, I can find the HTC ones for. Handtec want

Hey guys. How necessary do you think a screen protector is? Does it have any negatives?

I'm a new touch screen user.

From using PDA's, VERY if you keep in a pocket or pouch case.

You shouldnt notice any issues with using the screen or sensitivity, although some people just dont like their feel.

BUT much better a bit of plastic gets damaged than a

So do I but they will not pay out for a scratched screen. They call it "fair wear and tear". I know - I've tried it!

    Edit: Yes they are.

Play are usually good with pre-orders, and may get them sooner than listed.

I forgot to say that the company I ordered from very kindly offered me a 35% discount on the screen protector so there's another one on its way . Hopefully second time lucky , if not I'll be ordering those ones from play .

I have just fitted the Vikuitit screen protector and the fit is excellent. (its got the Desire label on the packet) Very difficult to see once fitted and really crystal clear. When fitting, make sure to be in as good a dust free area as possible, as static seems to love sticking to these devices. :(
Its a quality piece of kit, I ordered direct from Germany (8.95euro), came in 4 days.

Bah, Play.com won't ship them to Denmark, and Expansys sell them for 75dkk, with shipping 107dkk... that's ridiculous, for such a small item.

I agree. The Vikuiti is cheaper than the Martin Fields (although there is no film for the camera). It applies very easily as it is quite stiff. Put a bit of soapy water on my fingers and one edge of the the film when applying. No bubbles. No dust. Fits very well (even accounting for the slight curve to the top of the screen). It is as smooth and as clear as glass. No problems using Swype with it! The edges haven't come away or bubbled, and there is no sticky glue seeping from the edge to attract dirt (unlike the InvisibleShield).
