When I was using Nokia N95, my favorite calendar app was Papyrus (sbsh.net). There were category icons on the monthly view. With this, I could easily tell what I have for the whole month.

The Hero's built-in calendar only shows gray triangles when there are events available. Is there any third party app I can use? The app must fulfill these two conditions:

    1) Can have category icons on monthly view.

    2) Can sync with Outlook.

No category icons, but Calendar Pad (and Calendar Pad Pro) has week and month views with real text instead of those "busy" indicators, much like Papyrus/Agendus/Pocket Informant on WinMo, Palm, etc.

I use Agenda Widget but I'm not sure it fulfils your 2 conditions. It displays upcoming calendar events from my Google Calendar with the text description.

Give it a go - don't know if it syncs with Outlook though.

    Cheers, Chris

    Thanks for your advice!
I had hoped that there would have been released an calendar app with icons by now, but hey, perhaps soon?
The outlook sync can I personally live without.

    Actually I don

Not entirely sure about a Droid. HTC handsets can certainly use HTC Sense which is installed on the desktop and allows you to sync with the PC. Non-HTC phones....I assume there's something similar.

I'm preparing to go from Centro to Epic and just found this. I'm hoping it will help ease my DateBk withdrawl. It looks like there may be a preferences option to show only icons in the month view, but, of course, I haven't tried it yet. If any former DateBk users give it a shot, please post your impressions.
