Call and text logs.... can they be recovered?

Lets say I'm trying to circumvent the ability for someone to recover deleted call and text history, maybe even browsing history that's been deleted. How long are these deleted files accessible via recovery methods? Where are these files located? And how can I prevent their recovery?

I think a factory reset would work for most folks to erase things like that?

Yes.... I thought so too..... but is there a certain file within android system files which holds the call and text logs?
