    I spent an hour on the phone with verizon tonight b/c I wasn't getting email notifications, slow phone etc. The phone I have now is the 3rd Eris...so I'm getting a Droid 2. Is that good? I have no idea anything about this phone but that's the choice she gave me and I took it. I hope it's ok. I thought they would offer an incredible but guess not.

    I'm not sad to be leaving the Eris behind though...I've had a ton of issues with it and I know there are phones out there that are capable of being much faster.

    Thats a very generous replacement IMO.

    You shouldnt have near as many issues with the Droid 2 as you did the Eris :) :)

    Thanks!! It came today however the battery and charger was shipped in a seperate box!! It's torture to have the phone sitting there and not be able to use it!!!

    It looks like the 2nd pic. Is that the 2 b/c that's what she told me I was getting. What is the first one? I'm just waiting for all the stuff that goes with it to get it going! I find it so strange that they send the battery and stuff separately.

    Well I spent an hour with techincal support on the phone trying to fix the problem. Reset the phone etc. When it still showed the same problem she gave me a few options and that's what I took. I did mention it earlier in the conversation that I like the phone but was just frustrated that it wasn't working properly and that I was already on my 3rd one. I was very nice and polite about it and only lightly suggested the possibility of getting a different model.

    Whats the tech support number? My eris is rooted but I feel I shouldnt have needed to to have the phone I pretty much started with.

    Ive called 4 times today and no luck :( they just keep offering a refurbed Eris that is going to break again.

    you do know that they log all the calls? so it shows on your account that you've called four times today asking for a new phone and turning down a refurb.

    By logging the calls, i assume you mean they put notations on the account.

    And as far as that goes, it depends on the rep how much detail is provided in those notes.

    The OP still might have luck depending on who he speaks too, regardless of the notes.

    You are in no way a moron. You are just simply trying to get a better phone. As long as you stay honest and dont get rude, it might happen.

    Im not saying keep calling over and over, but it might also not hurt to visit a corporate store and politely ask to visit with the manager. Explain your situation, and ask what he/she might be able to do for you.

    It is in the end, totally up to the managers discretion.

    thats what ive been trying to do, get lucky with a CS rep. But i highly doubt that is going to happen considering my luck so far, and i was VERY polite each time i called.

    Okay. Just realized you were not the OP. My fault.

    Explain your situation to us. How many replacements have you had on the Eris? Whats going on with it now?

    Lol no problem.

    I am currently on my second Eris (first one got replaced with silent call bug in June) and i have to restart the phone to see picture i just took, and also my trackball will not click and wont scroll sometimes.

    I love my Eris, but i simply do not trust the phone anymore because i think if they send me another one it is bound to have problems and I told them that very nicely but no luck so far.

    Keep this in mind.

    The OP had 3 replacements, so a total of 4 phones. That, IMO would justify a different model for replacement. Im afraid you probably don't qualify just yet for a different replacement.

    once the first replacement screws up, that should justify a new model phone. no one should have to put up with phones that were sent back for whatever reason being sent to them as a replacement, the phone was sent in once already so OBVIOUSLY theres a problem.

    I completely disagree. I see the point, but have to disagree.

    We are talking about very complicated electronic devices. Some are built better obviously, but its just part of the industry.

    Its like saying that everytime i drop a call, i should get out of my contract because one dropped call is not acceptable. Or like saying that because it was storming and my Dish Network lost signal and i wanted a new dish for that.

    Im in no way hating on your post, i just disagree. I know its beyond frustrating at times when this stuff happens, but its just part of it. Know what I mean :)

    When I got offered a droid 2 I wasn't demanding. The guy just offered it to me safter seeing I had like 8 refurbs. He was just like "wow, let's get you into a different device buddy!". It really depends on who you talk to.
