Can I change the voice on Navigator?
From what I've read in other threads........no.
I wish you could, cause that new yank voice is bloody hard to understand. Besides, it's a ROUNDABOUT not a bloody traffic circle.
I do believe there is a petition over at the Google Developers forums somewhere, to include the option to change the voice.
Till then I think we're stuck with this annoying bitch.
I just want to make her louder, it's so quiet it's hard to hear.
I use a different voice. I downloaded SVOX Classic and then the US Eng voice to go with it. They have several languages you can get. the TTS part (SVOX) is free, but the new voices cost just under $2 per voice. They now allow voices to be saved to SD card.
I find it to be a more pleasant voice than the robotic standard Nav voice, and it can also be used for any other voice app you have on the phone if you want. The language pack have a button that will play a sample voice so you can hear it before you buy.
I like when they are louder...
I've used before (Symbian, WM and even Bada) Tom Tom, Route 66, Igo, Ndrive and Sygic.
Never found any problem changing voices (some even have Voice Packs with the Simpsons).
If you have such an issue I think it is not a voice problem, it's a Navigator that sucks.
