i just rooted my phone and i'd like to play with different ROMs and kernels. I'm currently using Fresh 3.2 and the netarch-toast kernel. Just a few questions though:

    1. Can i make multiple nandroid backups?

    2. Is using the recovery method with AMON the best way to make nandroid backups?

    3. is restoring a nandroid backup like going back in time to the exact same state i had my phone prior to making the backup?

This is the whole point of nandroid backups... just in case you mess up and need to revert to a working version of a ROM/kernel. Amons RA is probably the better choice for a recovery since there are reports that clockwork does not wipe cache properly.

hm... so this is weird, i was using Fresh 3.2 and then i did a wipe cache and wipe dalvik-cache then flashed BakedSnack. when it booted up, my settings from when i had Fresh was still there, i looked in the settings and I am runniing bakedsnack. i thought when you flash a new ROM it resets everything?

am i supposed to do a "wipe data/factory reset" now?

Always wipe data, cach & dalvik cache before flashing a new ROM although some updates will not require you to do so. However, you only need to wipe cache & dalvik cache before flashing a new kernel.

The only thing you cant do is restore clockwork back up if you're in RA recovery or vice versa.

You can if you keep the other recovery .zip image on your SD card. Flash the .zip from your current recovery, and it automatically becomes the other recovery. from there, you can restore your nandroids. When you reboot, it reverts back to your original recovery. Pretty neat trick I discovered when trying to get out of a boot loop while with the "wrong" recovery image.

Thanks for the tip. I do like RA better though since it has usb mass toggle so i only use RA now. Does the new Clockworks have it?
