Can I remove the IM program safely?

    On the list of safe apps to remove I don't remember the IM being listed as safe to remove. That is the last piece of junk left on my phone.

    where might this list be? I was thinking of compiling a list of all the APKs and what happens when you remove them. But if it has been done already then I would rather see that.

    I read in another forum that I could just rename the app to .bak instead of the .apk file. I did that at first in case I had to restore it and rebooted the phone. The IM program was gone and the phone seems to work fine. So thank you gentlemen for helping me out again. I'm sure others benefit from the quick answers too......... :)
