As the thread title says really. I've rooted my UK O2 SLCD Desire using unrEVOked and installed LeeDroid 2.2 no AP2SD ROM

Prior to rooting the O2 branded boot order went as follows:

    • Static O2 Welcome logo screen
    • Static HTC logo screen
    • Animated O2 logo scren.
Since flashing the boot order is now:

    • Static O2 Welcome logo screen
    • Animated Leedroid boot screen
Is there a way to get rid of the static O2 logo on boot, it's driving me nuts?

    Thanks

Yes but you won't like it.

You'll have to unbrand using a gold card and a generic ruu, making it generic stock. Then you will need to root again.

You can backup titanium first then restore once you have put the same custom rom back on.

Or actually nandroid backup can be restored once rooted again

    Aah, OK. Thanks.

The only benefits of which would be to remove the O2 screen, am I right? Or, is there likely to be other stuff going on from O2 that I just haven't identified?

What are the risks of a bricked phone with the gold card method? I have HBOOT 0.93, will I need to downgrade first?

Thanks for the sage advice, I'll put up with it then. I'll just look away when I boot up :)

wouldnt a better option be to S-off the phone then install a custom splash and bootanimation?

[AlphaRev] Public release S-OFF HTC Desire GSM - xda-developers

S-off is simple to do, download the iso, burn to cd, boot your computer witth it, plug your phone in and let it do its magic

Tool to replace splash and bootanimation once you have s-off
    [UTILITY] 1-click Android Flasher(Recovery, bootanimation, splash1)[V1.5.0] - xda-developers

I found the tool didnt work to change the bootamination with leedroid.

I used rootexplorer app, and with a bootanimation I made myself and put on sd card moved it to system/customize/resource and replaced the boot animation that was already there

    My splash now looks like
    [IMG]
And my bootanimation alternates between the following 2 images so it looks like the HTC logo is flashing, it give a more streamlined boot up because its all the same from start to finish

    and

If you want to use it bootanimation
