Can you install 2.2 on a rooted 2.1 tablet?

    Im looking at getting the Sylvania tablet that would be on sale for 140 on black friday, my question is i know how to root it but i cant find info on how i would put 2.2 on it, for me i dont want a tablet if it wont do flash, let me know what you find out.

    If someone has a 2.2 ROM available for the Sylvania tablet I see no reason why you couldn't flash it. If no 2.2 ROM currently exists, however, the process would become significantly more difficult.

    by significantly more different do you mean me attempting to write a rom for it or do you mean i would be on a trial by fire basis to find a rom that is compatible?

    Most Android devices use hardware combinations specific to that device. To use a custom ROM intended for a different Android device, you would, very likely, run into issues with the hardware abstraction layer. Correcting these issues would likely require some programming changes to allow Android to properly communicate with the hardware.
