hey, i have around 3k messages on my phone at the moment.
i needed them deleted, the bulk deleting thing wouldnt work at all, just froze. so i started to delete them one by one. them research on here that you could get apps to delete the convos for you.
i downloaded 3 of them. im inpatient.
all three didnt work. my phone repeatedly froze and then i couldnt access the messages at all.
i uninstalled all 3 from the market app page thing. ive managed to access my messages once since, afater turning the handset on and off repeatedly.
i need help. i cant live without texting.
p.s i have the htc wildfire. i got it on the 26th aug. loosing patience.

I use an app called AutodeleteSMS. You can set it to delete messages that are older than X days.

IN your case try something really far back so it doeesn't try to delete too many messages at once. Try 60 days. If it works, then do 50... and so on.

If that doesn't work, a factory reset would do the trick.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! Hope you stick around;)

Glad that's working out for you!;)

Factory reset should be under Menu-Settings-Privacy, i believe.
Just keep in mind this wipe everything(not your sd card).

    Good luck

Gonna be a bit cheeky and go a bit off topic here but im willing to mod my phone however really. just wanna make it a bit more rad. dont particularly want to spend money on apps or anything though!
    any ideas? recommendations?
i know of people who do it with xboxs and laptops and such
ive done a couple of game downloads and stuff and hacked them, but that was for pc
this might be a complete fail comment. thought id just throw it out there :p
    cheers in advance!

I think what you want is ROOT.
