    So...first time poster,

looking for some help with a strange problem.

    Background:
    - Bought Motorolla Droid in Shanghai (china)
--Does not appear to be cracked/hacked (I know the vendor)

After setting the location to English 90% of the text changed on the phone.
    - Text input, settings menus, programs, Etc

However, the "notifications" remain in Chinese

    Example:
    - "Are you sure you want to delete this message/thread?"
    - All calendar dates and months are still in chinese, but the interface is in English

Sorta stuck on this, and despite the fact that it will improve my chinese I would like to remedy this.....

Is there anywhere else I can go to change language settings apart from the location section in settings?

    Note:
A complete reset is an option, but I'm afraid even after doing this it will simply revert back to all chinese and i'll just have to restart this whole process again.

Is it definitely a Droid or is it a Milestone? Does it say Verizon on the chin? If so then you might need to root it and flash a ROM made for English speaking users. I don't think doing a factory reset will help but you could always try it.
