Apps Can't Install Eclipse

Hi, Chaps

I have followed all the steps installing android and eclipse and have got stuck at the stage where it says:

Once Eclipse is started up, we can add the ADT plugin. In the menu, Help -> Software Updates.

I have tried this and get an error saying;

Cannot launch the update UI. This installation has not been configured properly for software updates.

I have tried going to Window/Preferences/General/Capabilities and selecting classic update as suggested on google but there is no capabilities option there. I cannot find any other solutions can anyone help.
