I was using 'logcat' to capture device logs with android 4.0.4 on Galaxy Tab2. It was working correct.

I upgraded to android 4.1.1 and the 'logcat' started throwing error saying,

"Catlog requires root(super user) access to read logs".

Any work around to read the logs??

I believe adb logcat will still work but every other option I've seen since JB requires root. Some of the older standby apps like alogat that don't have an option built in to enable root can be made to work by converting it to a system app via Titanium Backup.

Thanks for the reply. But that didn't worked. I had to root the device and that's how I got the the full access to logs.
