Forgive me, but you ran Wugs with 'Any build', selected?

Have you tried Rxpert's instructions on manual rooting?

Just used the latest wugs to (finally) root my 4.2.1 N7. Beside it taking some time to clear out the old and install new drivers, back up and restore, it was very easy. What issues did you have when you tried to root?

    What have you tried?

    Are you unlocked?

    Custom recovery?

If you are unlocked and have a custom recovery just flash the su files I have linked in the manual root guide
