God. They should let us choose which apps we want and which we do not.

Maybe Twitter pay a nice sum to Google for it, which helps fund more developments?

Its only a problem because it merges Twitter contacts into our contact lists and then seems to really slow down the contact list population in general.

One touch root and then use Titanium Backup to remove.

I finally rooted, manally, no one-click and no bootloader unlocking. Well worth it. Removed Amazon MP3 and also Twitter... Well worth it for that...

If you are not into custom ROM's, then there are plenty of lightly modded Stock ROM's out there that are very nice.

I switched from ENOM's custom ROM back to a modded Stock ROM: [ROM] FRF91/FRG33 Stock, Deodexed, rooted, busybox, battery %, TB alert/wake 9/16/10 - xda-developers

I did this mainly for stability. The custom ROM's are still wonky and had several issues with them. This one has been a gem!

I downloaded 1.6.1 from this thread, installed the apk, click root, rebooted, downloaded titanium backup and it tells me it could not acquire root privileges, any help?

Do you have the "Super User" icon in your menu at all? Also, select "Problems" in titanium backup and let it run.

Do you need the donate version to remove apps like amazon and twitter, I click it and it tells me it can't find the apk file.

Sounds like you need to enable "chuck norris" mode (not a joke) and then locate the app your trying to remove; the setting is under "Preferences" . Dunno if you need to be donate or not since Ive purchased it already.
