Why in the world are there not cases that have the buldge in the back cut out for the HTC Incredible? All you need to mainly protect are the edges of a phone and a case could keep the Incredible the same thickness as without a case if the buldge in the back was allowed to protrude through a case. Does anyone know if a case like this is sold or am I going to have to buy a thin snap or silicone case and dremel out/cut out the buldge in the back myself? Thanks.

I think the OP is talking about protective cases, not the battery case itself. As pictures of the home-made dremel mod showed, enough of the protective case covers the battery cover for it to not just fall out. I think the OP's point is a good one and it would definitely make getting accessories for it much easier. Right now.. I've already broken down and got a 1500 mAh battery simply because it was $15 and all the accessories fit on it. I'm going to wait out to see how the large extended batteries do in terms of pricing (if it'll drop or cheaper alternatives) and accessories

Well, yeah, of course without the back of the phone, the battery would fall out. Protective cases add about a millimeter or two to the thickness of the phone, correct? So why in the world are all these protective case manufacturers not actually considering creating a case that does not go over the hump in the back? There is absolutely no reason to go over it, is there? When a phone drops it usually always lands on the corners. I have no idea how to even begin searching for that on google. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that was smart enough to do something like this?

Ooh, haha, then yes, this would be a great idea.. There's a guy here who, for $20 + the cost of the case, will dremel out a case to fit the bump. He does a real good job, too.. Just look in the accessories subforum for a topic like "2150 battery + dremel" or something like that. It shouldn't be too far in.
