Change "their" dial tone!! is it possible

I hope I phrase this correctly. When you dial a friend and that person happens to be abroad you get a different dial tone on your phone indicating the person is not in the country.
Is there an app to simulate this so anyone ring me would get that dial tone to make them think I'm out the country.

I think you mean the ringback tone, not the dial tone (which is what you hear when you pick up a landline phone, to let you know that it's connected). The ringback is generated by the telephone company central office, so there's nothing you can do on your phone to change it.

My carrier actually plays music when someone rings me...Chinese pop songs. Friend rang me from the UK, and wondered what the hell was going on... LOL

Those who know, remember that Grand Central did this. Then oddly, when it became Google Voice it stopped.
