I recently got the HTC EVO V 4G. It was already activated and ready to be used. Also i'm moving on for college this summer from a small to a medium city.

Do I really need to change my number to where I plan to live?

Right know, i am not having any issues except the know fluctuating signal bars, but i'm hoping VM will be able to fix it eventually.

yeah, that what i thought, but the first day when i didnt know about this, i was having issues with people calling me and getting 3g area so i thought the phone was 'scanning' my area to 'get used' to the signal towers.

I moved from Washington state to Illinois and never bothered to change my number. If I'm not mistaken you do get 1 free number change with VM USA.

I live in California but my cell phone has a Minneapolis, MN area code. I have had this cell number for close to 20 years.
