I moved the thread to the Revolution forum. You'll be more likely to get a good response here.

Not sure about the stock home app, but I would recommend Launcher Pro.

In the LG home you can replace icons on the bottom dock by dragging icon from app drawer to dock.

you can do like jinwons said or get yourself Launcher Pro, it is pretty slick, you can use default icon, LP icons, etc... Very custom look.

Launcher Pro is a great app, but I prefer GO Launcher EX. (It's free, with no ads.) There are several apps by the GO Developers that I also have on my Revo including GO Contacts (has a great dialer app built in too), GO SMS Pro for messenging and GO Keyboard instead of the stock one or Swype. (They're all free as well.) Here are pages on them if you're interested in reading:

As for other home screen widgets, the native ones won't be available with an alternate launcher. But, there are dozens of alternatives in the market. For weather, I use Weather Widgets by Pixelspore. The page for it is here:
I prefer this one to most others because it has a way smaller footprint than most of the animated and constantly updating widgets offered by others.

For music, there are lots of good choices too. I use Cloudskipper Music player, which is great, simple and has a simple widget too. It's here:

    Take care. - MarkC
