Root Charging Issues!!

I have the Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S... bought it the day it came out. My issue is the battery is ran down almost to where it will just die.. it tells me to charge it.. so i do.. i put it on the factory charger and about 10 seconds after it recognizes that its 'charging' a pop up comes on and tells me that my battery charging is complete and to take it off the charger.. yet when i do the battery icon is still yellow and needs charging... help!

if you are having real battery issues though, you may want to exchange the phone at verizon
