My other half told me her phone wasn't charging so I had a play about, tried different chargers etc and she appeared to be correct.

Trying to rule out a problem with the USB port or the battery, I plugged it into the PC to see if the PC recognised it as an external disk. It did and it is also now charging . I tried a few different cables, and then tried it with the charger from my handset and still, via the PC it's fine, but it will not charge from the mains

I'm toying with reverting to stock and RMA'ing or sticking it in to the local mobile repair shop to see if they can sort but before I do, has anyone else experienced this? She's happy to charge via the PC from now on, but I think this is the start of something bigger and it will eventually stop charging altogether.

Any suggestions or potential fixes I can try myself before I decide whether it goes back to Orange or in for repair would be much appreciated. :)

You have probably seen this, but just some suggestions from the Wiki:

Got a voltmeter and a 10 Ohm resistor as load?

Good little threads here and here

    Thank you sir! :)

    You are welcome....Excellency :D

just put another interest linky in my original post, very interesting stuff, might not solve your OH's problem, as it seems phone, not charger related, but will help ppl who have non-ZTE chargers, which only charge at USB rate....

    Bottom line:

    Hope things can be fixed.

Loyal subject, as always your sage like guidance is greatly appreciated, thank you. :D

She's changed her tune though, rather than mess about with things, she wants to take it to the mobile repair shop tomorrow.

Please I am just wondering if you ever solve this problem, without having to send it out to repair and if you did send it out, to where and what was the solution? please below is my my own problem:
Hello all, I have had my phone since March 2012 but got it rooted last month (blukuban). Everything was fine and I liked it, I also used an app call ‘NOON’ on my phone for my daily jogging and every now and then after finish jogging I will realize that the phone is wet, I will open it up and dry it, however sometimes last week, I kept getting a message that 'charging paused, voltage is high'. The phone will stop charging but this message sometimes even displayed when I am not charging the phone, so eventually the phone died since the battery is not charging. I took the phone to the store and they refused to work on it since I rooted it, they claimed that I voided my warranty and it is possible that the phone has water inside. I got another battery and the phone comes on but still will not charge. The phone just powered itself on and there is no way to turn it off unless I take the battery out. I am just wondering if anyone has experience such an issue before or what suggestions you might have for me. The phone still work but the problem I have now is charging it or make sure I can turn it off when the batter is inserted. Thanks in advance
