I've been thinking about getting rid of my iPod (which is a 32GB version) entirely and loading all of my music into my Nexus One. For this, I will need to expand my memory. I saw this picture on Lifehacker a while back: http://www.billshrink.com/blog/wp-content/themes/shrinkage/images/graphics/nexus-one-total-cost.jpg
It says that the storage capacity of a Nexus One can be expanded to 32GB. I don't know much about microSD cards, so I asked around to find out where I could possibly find a 32GB card. I was told that a 32GB card doesn't exist or are unstable or something and that my phone needs to be microSDHC compatable. Is this true? What is my next best alternative? Also, can you explain what to look for in the 'class' of a card?

    This is how I roll.
I keep a playlist of my favorite songs on my Nexus card that is 1 gb. I carry my itouch for the better games and music storage. It just works out that way better for me.

Couldn't tell you about SD card capacities currently available as I haven't looked around for quite some time, but I can tell you that the Nexus most definitely can utilize micro SDHC. In fact, the card that comes with it is a micro SDHC card (either class 2 or class 4).

32GB microSDHC cards haven't been released yet, but when they are the N1 will be able to take them, but they'll be pretty expensive initially.

The class of card refers to how fast it is. I had a class 2 ship with mine, but bought a class 6 16GB replacement. I honestly can't tell the difference in speed so my suggestion to anyone seeking advice would be to save some cash and stick to the slower cards.

I'd use the same logic as I do with my camera cards - stick to a reputable manufacturer, SanDisk gets my personal vote.
    Don't scrimp on a few

Check newegg.com to see what they have. They have an excellent selection, some of the best prices, and the best customer review database around. Even if you don't go through them it's a great site do do research.

I just checked and you're looking at $45+ for a 16 gig card. I personally will be waiting. I bought a 1 gig SD card years ago for $80 and had a need to get one for my wife 10 months later. I ended up paying half for a card twice the size! Just ain't fair. Anyway, if you don't NEED it you might want to hold off until you do because memory has a way of dropping in a hurry. Sometimes...

I'd say wait until the 32 gig cards come out and everything else behind that will drop decently.

32 GB Micro cards rumored to be out first half of this year, from SanDisk. Woot! (sorrry, don't have the links but read extensively the other day).

    ~$40 get's you a decent 16 these days, just shop Amazon/Newegg.
