Root ClockWork Recovery brick?

hey guys...

im new to the forum but ive been roaming around for some weeks now and i must say that this is a nice community you guys have built here congrats!


First off im a total noob...just wanted to get that out of the way...

so...i just won a G1 on a aution, but the seller was selling it as defective...

he said that it looped on the recovery console and could not fix it...i asked him if he could show me the recovery console and he did.

i figure that if it booted into clockworks recovery it could not be bricked...

i still dont have the phone but i need to ask you guys what do i do from that menu??

i have some experience on some other in modding and flashing other phones, and consoles... but i dont have any experience with android...

any help would be hugely appreciated...thank!!!

I'm no expert and I'm new to android however I think I read on cyanogen wiki talk about 'ClockworkMod has crapped up your recovery'
