    Topic says it all. This just started happening today. I read online that clearing out the data for Google Apps and Gmail would fix this. No go.

    Just did a factory reset, still fubared. Anyone else have this problem? Have a fix?

    I wonder if it could somehow be Astro doing this? I see there is an option (and its on by default) To store the caches on the SD card. Could this be a player?

    Another update. It seems that its taking a long time for the calendar to sync. Wonder if that is a problem. No one else is having issues today?

    Ive tried a few things today (including three factory resets). Still does not work. Strange that it just started happening today. Guess I will give Verizon a shout when I get a chance. Looks like a replacement may be in store for me I guess.

    Must be some kind of server/sync error from Google. Went into gmail on my desktop computer, deleted all my emails dated July 29th and earlier, and now it works fine. No force close prompt.

    Also, been running Google searches for "Gmail force close Incredible" and it seems to be affecting quite a few people. Got the idea to delete my older emails (starting with July 29th and working back) from a Google forum. Hope they fix it. People saying they've called Verizon and HTC, but they don't know what's going on.

    Also having this error - I have two gmail accounts and I think it is only 1 account that is having the error.

    I have archived the emails more than from Jul 29 but it has sorted it i think... Agree that it must be either Google error - or maybe some embedded photo's (that weren't showing as attachments)

    Hope this helps anyone else.

    Correct, I have 2 accounts sync to my Samsung Vibrant and I have problem only on one of them. This issue occurred since last night for me and I've been going insane trying to figure out what suddenly happened. I reset to factory settings and even re-flashed to the original ROM; both unsuccessfully solved my problem. It has to come from the Google server where the account in question is located because I do encounter a lot of errors while synchronizing with the calendar and contacts as well.

    Oh yeah, also my Gtalk that is linked to the defective account looses connection quite often. I don't know if anyone has noticed that...

    I did the same thing on my Droid 2.1. Now I can sift through my inbox fine but as soon I look through my "All Mail" folder where the emails got archived, same problem exists.:confused:

    I think I may just create a whole new gmail account and just transfer all of my old emails from my existing account and hope that fixes the problem

    I did the same exact thing, went in to the verizon store and now they're gonna ship me a replacement phone.

    But I'm almost completely sure this is a gmail problem and not a hardware issue. But I'm happy to be getting a new phone :)

    I'm getting the same error today as well. Also, I'm experiencing huge delays from receiving new email until when my phone tells me I have new email. If I "refresh" the inbox new email shows up, but I haven't had to do that prior to today.

    Just wanted to say thanks to djkling15.

    I ended up creating a new folder and moving all my mail there. No more force close in the inbox but when I go to all mail it still force closes. Not sure if I should create a new account for my phone, or just go back to Verizon to see if I can get a replacement.

    p3ernie When you get your new phone if you could post your results here it would be appreciated.

    Trooper,

    Transferring my old emails to a new gmail account did not fix the problem. What I did instead was download GMAIL Backup here (which is an awesome program!!) I backed up all of my emails onto my hd, then deleted them all from my gmail account.

    PITA, but it worked and now I have no more stupid error to drive me crazy! :D

    Hi all,
    I have been having the same problem as well on the vibrant on t-mobile. I have been accessing gmail via the web, instead of using the app. It's annoying, but works for the time being.

    I'm having this problem as well, On a Captivate. It started on Aug. 8. Deleting some older mail helped (now, more emails load before the force quit), but did not fix it.
