T-Mobile has landed the Nexus One, the HTC HD2, and now the Motoroi? WHY isn't verizon getting anything new? **** the Calgary, it's a shittier Droid. What is going on with this though? Why aren't they trying to compete with new phones?

Yeah...I've heard a lot of rumors.

T-Mo is making moves...VZW just seems to be dogging it.

I actually thought Verizon turned a corner, but it's become clear that aside from the Moto Droid which is a serious niche phone, pretty much everything released since September is a regurgitation of something that's been released by other carriers already, sometimes months before. It's REALLY hard to commit to 2 years when new releases are already 6-8 months behind the curve.

Never mind. It's the Apple press conference day. That's expected to be all about the tablet they're coming out with, though

I'm not trying to sound like a whiny *****...I just feel like everyday I'm reading about new T-mo phones, and sprint supersonics and this and that...and nothing about VZW...and what Kyler said, it's like one company gets a sick phone, then 6 months later VZW gets it while the other company is getting 2 new cool ones.

    Just venting.

    I'm cooled off.

Ever think maybe, just MAYBE Vzw is trying to check the product fully before releasing it? Plus, we all know Vzw adds it's own goodies to each platform..

Yeah, I think Verizon uses AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile as beta testers. ;)

And Verizon is having the Q1 kickoff meeting with store managers to talk about upcoming devices and plan details. Fingers crossed that we learn more than just some Apple tablet coming to Verizon.

But just remember Tmobile pretty much has to have the latest and greatest phones. Hell their 3g network, or lack there of is killing the Nexus One right now.

I avoided Verizon for years even though I knew they had the best network in my area, because they never had a single phone I wanted.

Droid changed that. I'm definitely good for a couple of years. After that... we'll see.

Surprise surprise...nexus one gets FCC approval for Att, but nothing yet for VZW. Knock me down with a feather.

I'm right there with you. I'm ready to call and tell them a good network is useless without good phones.

I'm in sales and have territory in three states...I've had them all except T-Mobile and by far VZW has the best coverage. It's just frustrating that every time you read about some new phone that coming out it's going to another carrier.

I feel the opposite, the best phone in the world is useless w/o reception.
I have a cell phone for making and receiving phone calls first and foremost. If a carrier can't do this basic task, they don't get my business. If the drawback is to be the last to get new devices, so be it. Sure it is annoying to see other carriers get the best phones, but I also take quiet satisfaction in watching the person beside me get a dropped call on their fancy new gadget while I continue my conversation uninterrupted. :D

Totally agree!!! So speaking as a loyal VZW customer, it would be nice for a change to have a great phone that goes along with their great coverage.

I agree totally. But AT&T gets the iphone but the network sucks. We get the Jitterbug 2.0 but the network really rocks. Why can't we have the best of both worlds and have the SUPER duper best carrier?

Moto Droid, HTC Droid Eris, and there are good dumb phones too. I was looking at AT&T online today, nothing I would want.

So, obviously, this is a very subjective subject because I feel Verizon's phone lineup is fine.

I think the problem is on this message board the focus is on Android. Hence the carriers get judged based on Android. Motoroi? Its the Droid with Motoblur. The HD2 will just be a faster Imagio. The N1 is coming to Verizon. yet Tmobile doesn't have a WebOS phone.
But of course Tmobile is going to strive to have a great phone lineup. its not like they're spending money on their network. I mean their big project for the year is to speed up their 3G coverage while everyone else moves on to 4G. I'd rather Verizon keep a better network and be slower on phones then vice verse, even though its driving me batcrap insane dealin with a storm 1.

Duuuude, I wish I even had a storm one! I'm rocking a MotoQ...with no data. I agree with your post, it's more that I wish Verizon would get on top of announcing more phones with a little info so at least I knew what I was waiting for. But I wouldn't trade in great coverage for phones either. Right now, its the nexus, cause there is just wayyyy way way little known about this "incredible".

Actually, they are spending money, at least to upgrade speeds to HSPA+. That's 21Mbps and will compete well with 4G/LTE, at least initially. Other worldwide carriers are considering the same thing since it's cheaper to upgrade to HSPA+ in the near term and still get first gen 4G/LTE speeds. Also, HSPA+ makes HSPA better. One of these blogs awhile back did some testing and said that an HSPA/7.2Mbps phone pulled ~3Mbps on an HSPA network. That same phone on an HSPA+/21Mbps network pulled ~7Mbps down. That being said, T-Mobile still doesn't have nearly the footprint and likely won't be expanding much anytime soon. Kudos, though, on their push for more speed. Makes AT&T look silly when they say they have the fastest network. No, AT&T. You don't.

I agree. I woud love to see a device comparison between carriers over the past four months... I want to move from my 6800 WinMo phone to Android. Verizon came out with the two Droids, what a little less than three months ago with some exciting phones coming in a few months. I can wait to get the phone I want. My phone is fully functional for me now, so I'm not going to kick and scream. I'll just wait a little while longer and be happy with what I get.
