there was an update to maps to version 3.3 which included labs. some examples were terrain, layers button, compass location mark (rather than a circle, its an arrow pointing in your direction), and a few others (IIRC)

hit the market to get the update

"With Labs" Meaning it has some experimental features you can try including those noted above [IMG]

  10. they to implement some basic features, for instance a night view or saving destinations

We can already save destination shortcuts to our home screen. And also any contact address you have stored on your phone can easily be called up in google nav. Is that what you mean by "saving destinations".

  12. o so what you are saying is every time i go somewhere i should save it to my contacts so i can then retrieve it

I guess if you always need quick access to an address, then yes. Or even if you don't save an address to your contacts, google maps will give you a history of addresses you've typed in.

What did you mean by "saving destinations"? Did the iPhone version of google maps have a different saving feature than the one on Android?

  14. i didnt use google maps on the iphone. i used motiox gps.. i miss it

There might not be good news in the future - First generation not getting 2.0 and Android and Me are saying the same thing.

  16. are you referring to this?

    still a dead end

It just doesn't sound good, I've heard that the G1 just won't be able to handle it, and so that doesn't sound good for the mytouch because there are only a few upgrades between the two phones, so hopefully its enough to qualify for 2.0

  18. i have read in several places that the mytouch does in fcct have what it takes to run 2.0. I also seen a video on youtube of the g1 running 2.0. dont know how they did it but if they could make it happen on the g1 there should a bigger chance of it coming to the mytouch fingers crossed

  19. well, well . another phone is getting 2.0 . the her... what about us!!!!
