Left field suggestion, there is an app on the market called Bluetooth File Transfer which used to be the only way that the mini's could operate on bluetooth effectively. Would it make any difference to what you are trying to do? Its a freebie so might be worth a look.

So was it the app that helped or you managed to find a setting on your Mac that helped you out, or the combination of both. I like to have the right info in case it get's asked again here or over on my other forum.

Either way, glad you are sorted!

is weird, works only once, now is not working anymore... :S

maybe if i restart my computer it could work, but i think that the app should be installed, cause after installing it, i get the menu "Explore device"

    some updates for you...
basically, in 1.6 from my Mac, bluetooth, i was able to select my X10, it gives me two options (send file & browse device). browse device opens up a window for me to browse folders/files on the X10.

after i updated to 2.1, the browse device option is not there anymore.

** i installed the BT file transfer app and it works now. here are the steps
    1. launch BT file app
    2. press menu -> enable discoverable mode
    3. from Macbook, press BT icon, browse device
    4. click on your device (my is X10)
    5. window now pops open and you can see folders/files on your x10.

    Thank you very much!!

** updates...i was able to browse it once. now i can't get it to work again...very strange

i did it again and it works. here are steps...
    1. enable BT on MacBook
    2. enable BT on X10
    3. enable Bluetooth file program
    4. on MacBook, click on BT icon, select X10, then select browse device

    it's been working consistently now.

hope this info also helps other Mac users with X10 running 2.1
