    Hey All!!

I'm new to the forum, getting my Samsung Transform today. I was truly loving it and of course figuring out all the quirks it has, when I noticed that ALL my contacts were gone. Well I have gone to several other forums and google'd my issue. I tried everything. So I did a factory reset...which of course lost all of my contacts for sure. I entered all the contacts back in and then exported the contacts on my SD card and then tried syncing my facebook and gmail again...same problem happened. I have tired unchecking and rechecking the boxes under accounts. I deleted my accounts again...still doesn't work. What do I do??!! I really want to keep this phone, but I can't if this is going to be a serious issue.

The contacts disappear when I get ready to set up the gmail account so I can have facebook. I'm getting so frustrated. I have been at this for 3 hours. Someone please help!

I believe I had a problem very similar to this on this black Friday when I got my phone, my contacts wouldn't sync and I even had the best buy lady sync my contacts from my old phone to my Transform but when I got home I synced my gmail contacts to it when I used my account to get on the marcket and when I hit "contacts" I watched my contacts disappear 1 by 1 and all it did was go into my contact settings and hit "only display contacts with numbers" went into my main gmail account and hit the "co worker" "friends" "family" and "all other contacts" then one by one on my old phone I entered my contacts into my new phone... Have you tried something similar to this? I think this process could work for you.

    I also had this problem.

I just got off the telephone with my service provider. You MUST set up the gmail account before adding your contacts. If you set up the contacts and then the gmail account, the contacts will be deleted. Unfortunately the only way to get your contacts back is to put them back onto the phone.

Yeah you need to have Gmail acct set up on this phone...it is Google driven so yeah you need to have Gmail set in before you go and start adding stuff....when I got my moment last June I forget what we did....i don't remember if we logged me into gmail first or not...

You have to set up your phone with a/your gmail account. Then what I did was disable syncing immediately before it tried to sync up with the google servers. That prevented it from deleting my contacts. Then I backed up my contacts using MyBackup.
