Alrighty, the mysterious google, facebook contact syncing is up to it again. All of the sudden my contacts are now showing up last name, first name. Any ideas how to change this back to first name, last name?

+ I'd like to know the answer to that too. Haven't come across the solution for that on this forum yet. And it's really annoying.

I'm not sure if this is related...but in gmail...there's an option to 'merge' contacts...I notice that some of the info was from my phone...I played around with it and I think it helped. Well..mostly still have one contact with last name, first name. But my thinking is that, our phone does auto synch to our gmail with contacts (?) and so they show up in our contacts in gmail...when we merge contacts (can edit name) that changes get sych with our phone? Can someone confirm this?

Did anybody solve this? I strongly prefer first name then last name in my contacts. With all the minute obscure customizations this phone allows, this seems like it would have been a no-brainer.

Edit your Google Contact in your gmail. Someone on another thread confirmed that this works.

The good news is that Companionlink for Google will do it for you.

Sync Palm Desktop, Microsoft Outlook, ACT!, Lotus Notes, GroupWise, and GoldMine with Google and your phone | CompanionLink

It syncs your Outlook contacts correctly with Google. Works fine for me.

Bad news is its about $40 ... but that's only 2
