I'm not sure if something exists that would work for me. My car has a built-in dock for a iPod that would allow me to play music through the car stereo. Does anyone know of a converter that would allow me to plug in my eris instead?

Probably not a direct converter, you could use bluetoothbluetooth if your car has that.

find the pinout for one of the apple connectors and you should be good to go if you've got a soldering iron. I'm sure I can find a link here somewhere....

goddamn apple and their proprietary standards. I don't trust anything that doesn't have a pure line out/in connection.

edit edit: thats not exactly what you need, hm.

what you need is the above plus a female to female ipod connector which I can't find.

sheesh. if you're handy with an iron he sells just the board mounted receptables and you can save a few bucks.

what you want is the "L. iPod dock adapter(top left)" under category "iPod Line In/Out adapters"
