An app that pulls couches up according to where you are and has contact information for each couch when you press on it. I think this is really a winner.

Check out couchsurfing.com, it's a community for travelers where you basically get to sleep on couches for free. It's a really cool way to travel because you meet people and save a lot of money. There are thousands of couches in most countries.

    I'm on it :)

I'll start developing it this week.

Actually, I got in contact with couchsurfing.com and asked them if they had an API available, and apparently they are still developing it. So, until they get that finished on their end, I won't be able to do anything.

Alternatively, I could have it scrape their site, but that in turn may cause other problems - for instance, if they change certain things on the site, it may break the application.

    So, what do you think?

I would also like to see an app that syncs/works with couchsurfing or even an independent product.

Hey, at least that means they've got a mobile app or API in mind. That's reassuring.
