does this also apply for rooting in the future? i guess what im trying to figure out is, does this load froyo on the phone the same way in OTA would? so when some one roots froyo will we be able to use the same procedure with the hacked froyo? i hope im explaining this right

I can't say just yet. Why don't you just root and then install the update? They've already confirmed that works, so why risk it?

I have root explorer...I don't see the SU file in the bin folder...

Sweet, so I'm assuming you don't have to download flash 10.1, just tried it out on my own page and it works, haven't tried any complex flash yet though.

Edit:side note: "they" were right, this is an entirely different phone, seemed sluggish at first but smoothing its self out by the min.

I can't copy the su file from /bin to /xbin because it says the file system is read-only? I'm rooted and everything... Any help?

not sure what your bin /xbin is, i just browsed to it when it was usb connected to my pc and dropped it at the root of my sd card,

and WOW battery manager under settings is pretty intense now..!

download it on a computer and transfer via usb.

i have tried downloading it onto my droid x i got it on using mass storage into the first folder when i did the reboot screen it said something along the lines of E: process not right and then cancelled the download. i tried getting it in using PC mode but it will not go into the folder says the device has been disconnected where it is clearly connected.

any help?=\
