couple of questions need help :(

please help me out i already search the forum but still cant seem to find the answer to my questions. I rooted my phone but cant install a custom rom i get an error after i try to install it i dont know what to do i have watch every video n read almost everything on installing a rom but still cant seem to get it is there something that im doing wrong or something i left out???? someone help me please .. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks in advance

I rooted my sprint htc hero using this method [GUIDE] How To Root The Sprint CDMA Hero (Windows) - xda-developers.After that i try to install this rom [ROM] 01/01/10-1.1 | fresh rom | a new year release! - xda-developers. When I try to install it gave me an error message saying the zip file was bad.I try to install a different one same error.My question is did I leave something out or am I doing something wrong

Please provide the actual error message and where it came up.

I ran into an issue when installing Fresh Rom 1.1 and update.zip failing the MD5 check. Re-downloading from Geek For Me – Android CDMA Sprint Hero and re-copying took care of the issue, for me.
