I was thinking of taking a different approach in android. I like making tools and what not and I was thinking that maybe I could make my own API. I was thinking of maybe making tools and letting other developers use them. I was just curious if I would be able to create basic activities that have set standard layout.xml files and be able to distribute them. Do you think distributing jar files with .xml layouts and resources would actually work or should I not even waste my time to look into it? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I'm new to the android development and not quite sure of things allowed and not allowed.

If you have a really good tool that solves specific problems then sure. However myself and I presume most other developers have our own libraries that we add to when we come across annoying problems that we feel could use a permanent work around for.
