Hello, I bought a few apps in the Market and in some cases I noticed that the developers charged for updates. I would like to know if this practice is admitted and fair. I also would like to know if it is possible to have a clear notice about how udates/upgrades FOR EACH APPLICATION are dealt with in terms of charges to your credit card when you buy in the Market.

I think this is essential if we want to improve the Market, put some order and make sure you can control what you pay once you establish a relationship with third parties through the Market and eventually guarantee the success of the platform. Are there any rules for developers/sellers in the Market in this respect? Can we read them?

    Thanks, alex

I have not seen any apps that recharge your CC for and update ... upgrading might be chargeable if the apps name has changed..and features have changed.. but it think there is a statment that your card will be charged and you have a chance to not upGrade...

When using market updates some paid apps will show the are verifing/authorization of the CC but that is for ID/ownership purposes and there have been no charges to the CC and not Charge notification sent to my Gmail confirming a Google Account charge ... so i know these updates or not being charged..

First I would make sure you were charged for the app update. You may have already done that but check again.

I have noticed that it might take anywhere from instant to a couple days for an app purchase to post to my card.

After checking again, would you mind posting the name of the app so we can all see if it happens to us.

If this is true, it could be an issue for me using an app that charges for updates.

when you update it says "Authorizing Credit Card" just to make sure you purchased the app but it doesn't actually charge your card

Yes, this is what I noticed - I'll check in the next couple of days as some of you suggested and then will communicate my findings. I also wrote to the developers and I expect to have a first-hand information from them. And sure, when it is clearer I will putr the name of the application, so to make sure I am not misleading anyone.

    Thanks for yopur replies.

    Alex
