Can I change my SMS tone to a custom tone on my Motorola Cliq? Is there an app for that? I downloaded chompSMS and it allows me to change the fonts and add a signature, but the font is only changed on my end. Is there an app I can use to change it on the receiving end?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Rachel :)

To change the notification tone for sms just go to the settings in the stock sms app. Scroll down to where it says select ringtone. Then you'll be able to select what tone you want to use. Now, if you're trying to get more into it, you can download Ringdroid. It'll allow you to use/modify any mp3 on your phone to a ringtone or notification.

As far as being able to change the font on the recieving end, that is not possible.

I was very displeased when i found out that the stock texting app for the Motorola Cliq did not have an option to have a signature in text messages. Does the chompSMS app allow you to have one?

Nope. No need to worry about extra charges.

I just switched from chompsms to handcent which has more options... like color/ringtone preferences per person... now my bff has her fav color for hers... and I'm working on custom tunes... OMG I love the customization on Android!!!!

I prefer to use chompSMS rather than handcent because it seems alot easier and less confusing
